A Guest Post by Morgan L. Busse, author of Daughter of Light–and a Giveaway!

Daughter of Light by Morgan L. BusseIt’s time for another Team Novel Teen blog tour. And today we’re talking about a fabulous fantasy novel called Daughter of Light. It’s by author Morgan L. Busse and published by Marcher Lord Press. I have already reviewed this wonderful book, and if you’d like to read my review, click here. It’s a great story.

Not only do I have Morgan on my blog with a guest post for you all, I’m going to buy a paperback copy of Daughter of Light for one lucky commenter! (See the end of this post for entry form.)

Welcome to my blog, Morgan. I’m excited about your series!

MorganMorgan L. Busse writes speculative fiction for the adult market. She is the author of Daughter of Light and Son of Truth, the first two books in a series from Marcher Lord Press. Morgan lives in the Midwest with her husband and four children. You can find out more about Morgan at www.morganlbusse.com.

Hi, my name is Morgan L. Busse. I love trees, rain, and mountains. So that’s why I live in Kansas. Actually, I do love Kansas. It has become home for me and my family. And speaking of family, I am married to a wonderful, crazy guy who is also a pastor and together we are raising our four children (including a set of twins). If that wasn’t chaotic enough, we also have two dogs, two cats, and two long-haired guinea pigs that I affectionately call my tribbles.

I am a writer. I have been writing for over eight years now and have published two books with the third one in the rough draft phase. My first novel, Daughter of Light, centers on a young woman with the ability to see inside a person’s soul with a touch of her hand. However, Rowen does not realize she has this ability until a mark shows up on her palm and she touches a man from her village. Then she sees everything. Rowen is banished from her village under the conviction of witchcraft and begins her journey on discovering who and what she really is.

Son of Truth--CoverThe second book in the Follower of the Word series released this past spring. Son of Truth follows the assassin Caleb Tala (a character introduced in Daughter of Light). His life is radically altered when he is touched by Rowen at the end of book one. He discovers he is not who he thought he was and must make a choice: remain a man or become a Son of Truth.

I am now working on the final book. Book three will be a book of revelations. Many of the questions I have planted throughout the series will be answered, like what happened to the Eldaran race? Who are the Shadonae? Where did Caleb’s mother come from? Why couldn’t Rowen’s father stop the Shadonae? Relationships will develop and the fate of the country of Kerre will be revealed. Rowen will meet the Shadonae and the final confrontation will happen. One thing I will say is there will be no family revelations. No Star Wars “I am your father” kind of moments.

People ask me if I will continue to write after I finish the Follower of the Word series. The answer: yes! I still have lots of ideas brewing inside my brain. I have a steampunk novel that I have been working on for a couple years now that I hope to start writing. It is a Victorian fantasy that revolves around the lives of a bounty hunter and a young woman from high society.

Wonderful book Morgan and I so happy that I don’t have to wait to read Son of Truth! I loved Caleb from the start (Yes, even though he was an assassin). I knew there was more to him and found myself liking his storyline the most!

Cynthia, it seems that Caleb has captured the interest of many of my readers. And he is a fun character to write. I will be doing a short story on him later this fall that will probably feature how he became an assassin. Should be interesting!
