(Left to Right: Enes Smith, me, Paty Jager and Tink, and Kristi St. Clair)
Dayville’s Meet the Writers was a blast. I had such a good time meeting other writers. I had the pleasure of sharing a table with crime author Enes Smith. The man is filled with wisdom and great stories. He was a homicide detective and gave a wonderful seminar on how to tell if someone is lying. I took notes like crazy!
Paty Jager is a Western romance author. She talked about her writing process and about how all her different stories came to be. She is published by The Wild Rose Press, a wonderful company that I edited for for two years. It was a joy to meet her and her sweet dog, Tink.
And eer since I moved to John Day everyone asks me if I’ve met Accidental Cowgirl author Kristi St. Clair. Well, I have now! What a sweet lady! I really enjoyed hearing about her journey as well and talking to her about life in Eastern Oregon.
I also saw some old friends from the writer’s workshop I led this past spring including the talented graphic artist, Eloise Boren, and teen author Jake Buce. Jake and his friend (whose name I forgot and couldn’t find since he didn’t sign up on my email list!) stopped in. They got credit for school and tried to con their way into getting a part in my movie, then left before I could be a picture with them. Sneaky guys.
A big thanks to Kelly Cooper and the River Valley Writer’s Group for hosting the event. It was a lot of fun.

Hi Jill,
So great meeting you. Couldn’t believe what a fireball you are. It’s inspirational. Wow! You wrote 32 pages in one day! Sheesh. Maybe you’ll rub off on me.
Sorry the photographer (might have been Phil, not sure)caught me unsmiling. I had a wonderful time. All of you energized me!
