These 24-page resources are designed to maximize the literary benefits of the novel By Darkness Hid, To Darkness Fled, and From Darkness Won in a homeschooling format. They include chapter discussion questions, as-you-read bookmarks to help your student increase his vocabulary skills, hands-on artistic activities, and fun creative writing assignments.
A student/teacher lesson plan gives a day-to-day schedule to work through the novel. By allowing one extra week for additional writing or other projects, a student can finish each book in one month.

How they Got Published
Mary Agius, the coauthor of the homeschool curriculum that goes with Jeff Gerke’s Art & Craft of Writing Christian Fiction Workbook, emailed me and asked if I’d like to write a homeschool curriculum to go with By Darkness Hid. We brainstormed a bit and each started working on different parts of the project. Mary did most the work. I wrote the discussion questions and found a scroll and the shield. I also designed the cover. But Mary did pretty much everything else. Over the next year, she and I created homeschool guides for books two and three.
Then we were stuck for a really long time as to how to get them printed up. And one day I stumbled onto the fact that Amazon CreateSpace allows books to be printed in the 8 1/2″ X 11″ size that we needed. We figured out how to publish them, and that was that. The books are available online at Amazon.com or from me or Mary at the various homeschool conferences we attend.
