A lot of people ask me how to pronounce the names in my books. I probably should have worked on a pronunciation guide. But Hebrew is a tricky language. I recently found this Hebrew Lexicon site that allows you to listen to the phonetic spelling of Hebrew words.
Click on the following words to hear how they sound.
Achan ● cham ● Er’Rets ● gowzal ● Chowmah Mountains
Gadowl Wall ● Mahanaim ● Shamayim
tanniyn ● Nahar Duchy ● Gidon ● Hadar
Any others you have a hard time pronouncing? Ask me and I’ll clarify.

Jill! 😮
Me and Chris were talking JUST yesterday morning about how to pronounce the different words in your book. And here it is! I will NEVER doubt bloodvoicing again! ROFL

LOL That’s funny, Leighton. I stumbled onto that Hebrew Lexicon page and thought it would make a fun blog post. I haven’t had time to think of creative blog posts lately. I must confess, though. Achan will always sound like Ay-kan to me. 🙂

Wow, that is really cool. I like that I can hear the true pronunciation. That’s awesome.

It’s kind of weird, too, huh? I didn’t listen to anything like this early on. Achan will always be AY-KAN to me. But it is kind of cool. Listening to that guy’s voice makes me feel like hearing a character from my world. 🙂

I had no idea your names were based on Hebrew. Interesting. And I like the meanings of the names too. Well suited.
