I’ve been sewing a gown to wear for the upcoming filming of the From Darkness Won book trailer. I get to play a small part in this trailer as Duchess Amal, Vrell’s mom. So I needed a dress. I had already planned to try and make Eowyn’s green dress from the Two Towers movie. I had very limited options when I bought fabric, so I ended up with a crushed velour and a print jersey knit. Not ideal.
It took me a while to figure out the pattern, especially the neckline, underskirt pieces, and flap. I guessed on how the back looked and later discovered some pictures only that showed the back. And mine is different that the real one. It doesn’t really matter. It’s all in good fun.
Here is a picture of my dress so far. I still need to add the sleeves, and I need to find some kind of belt… But it’s not turning out too badly. I might add some Swarovski crystals to that print to dress it up some. We’ll see.
The next picture I’ll post will be a finished product. 🙂
