Whew! I am having so much fun here at the Oregon Christian Writer’s Conference. I am roommates with my friend Angela and Maria. Maria is a member of my online critique group, and it has been so fun getting to know her. She is such a servant of the Lord, I could just sit and listen to her talk all day.
There are so many friends here, but I have to mention teen writers Rachel Aldrich, whose articles have been published in Clubhouse Jr, and Laura Schuff, who is one of the sharpest proofreaders I’ve ever met. I also got to meet Justin McDaniels, his sister Victoria, and her friend Adrianna, who are working here as camp counselors (there is a children’s day camp at the conference center). And I got to meet Kat O’Shea, editor for Leap Books, another online friend I’ve known for years.
Bill Myers is the keynote speaker. His message last night talked about the players in this thing called life. There is God and there is us. I’m enthralled with how God has used him and really look forward to what else he has to say.
I’m talking James Scott Bell’s morning session this week about writing books that are Hollywood friendly. I’m really excited about that. And Jeff Gerke is here–editor and owner of Marcher Lord Press. He helped me decide what part of book two to read for the author readings nightowl. I’m so thrilled to know all these people, and happy that God has let us do life together.
More from Canby, OR tomorrow. 🙂

Kat! I missed getting a picture with you. I didn’t think about it last night. And I forgot that you were leaving at 4am! Are you home now? I hope the conference was fun and worthwhile for you. I’m so glad we got to meet. It was lots of fun! 🙂
