Sometimes a writer gets an idea in her head and really has to work hard to figure out how that idea will work out on paper. Since I have no medieval knights I can call up for an interview, I had to ask my resident hunter. Greg seemed quite excited to answer my myriad of gruesome questions as to how to pluck a bird in the woods, how to kill beasts with only a knife, and how one might descend quickly from a high place to the ground when there are too many obstacles in the way to simply climb down with a rope.
Thanks to Greg for helping me (and to Brad for taking the kids out to see Hannah Montana, the Movie) but I was finally able to finish the scene I’ve been dreading for so long, because I didn’t have a clue how to turn what was in my imagination into reality.
And now you all have a few clues to some scenes in book two without my really telling you anything in particular. Rest assured, the story is coming together nicely.
