The King’s Spies trilogy is another expansion of the Blood of Kings storyworld. These stories follow members of the Marad, an undercover group that serves the king. After Cole Tanniyn solves a murder in the book Squire of Truth, King Gidon (who we affectionately call Achan) asks him to go undercover as a traveling minstrel and seek out those who might be plotting against him. Cole’s closest friend, Kurtz Chasir, goes with him, and the two head north with the Tsaftown army. Unbeknownst to either of them, Mistel Wepp, the girl Cole met in Squire of Truth, has followed them. And thus begins an epic adventure of espionage, songwriting, danger, and love.
