I am hard at work finishing up To Darkness Fled, the second book in the Blood of Kings series. I’m at about 460 pages, which doesn’t really mean anything, since it hasn’t been edited yet. I’m hoping it won’t be any longer than the first one.
I’ve only got about six scenes left, then I need to go back and trim, add details, and ship it off to my expert critique group for some feedback. Once I get that, I’ll do another revision, then send it off to Jeff to see what he says.
I had a lot of fun talking hunting with a guy in my church. Since I live in Eastern Oregon, and everyone but me owns at least one rifle, I have a host of people to ask about how to kill big nasty beasts realistically. You know me, I love to write as realistic as possible. So I was able to get some really great advice, including a look at a scary—but very cool—knife and offers to go hunting for some hands on research. I passed on the research. God has blessed me with an overactive imagination, and when you ask a hunter a question like that, they do not skimp on the details.
I’ve got it down. 🙂
