I’m a novelist, filmmaker, and avid reader. I’ll read just about any genre and share book recs on my social media. While my favorite movie genre to make is romantic comedy, my favorite genre for writing novels is fantasy romance from a Christian worldview (no spice, of course). You can learn more about me and my books here on my website, on my bookstore, and on my social media accounts linked at the top of this page.
My most recent book is called Shadow of Ice Island. It’s about a group of spies who go undercover as minstrels to try and find out what has happened to some missing people. Here’s a little more about Cole and Mistel’s story:
Cole Tanniyn is sent north on a secret mission to the infamous Ice Island prison. Mistel Wepp, refusing to let him face it alone, tags along. Uninvited. Now they must pose as “cousins” as they navigate icy secrets, disguises, and a prison full of dark secrets that test their courage—but it’s the feelings growing between them that may be the greatest risk of all. When duty and love collide, only one thing is certain—some risks are worth everything. 💙
One things that was really fun about writing this particular story was how it was going to be set in the same time and place as a book written by my friend.
THE ADVENTURE OF WRITING A NOVEL THAT PARALLELS ANOTHER

I have the unique blessing of having other authors writing books in one of the fantasy worlds I created. The Blood of Kings: Legends series is written by four other authors besides me, and it tells the fantasy adventure love stories of different characters all over the kingdom of Er’Rets. (Click here to check out the map.)
My newest King’s Spies series is also set in the same world of Er’Rets, and I thought it would be fun if my characters made some cameo appearances in the Blood of Kings: Legends novels. Since I would be sending Cole and Mistel to the frozen north, it made perfect sense to set my story at the same time as Andrew Swearingen’s Lord of Winter. I knew I was going to do this back when Andrew was writing his book, so I asked him to write my characters into his story.
And then I wrote his characters into mine. 😁
Ohh, it was so much fun! Even more delightful has been hearing the reactions of readers who’ve so enjoyed spotting these cameos. I liked doing this so much that I’m making plans to do it again.
Here’s the Stop #23 Basics:
If you’re interested, you can order Shadow of Ice Island from my online bookstore, from the Sunrise Shop, from Amazon, or from Barnes & Noble! *These are affiliate links.
